I had a great show this morning with Alex Suarez. We talked more about his direct reporting from the criminal proceedings against the African People’s Socialist Party in FL more than we did about his book, but we did remember to plug his book at the end of the show. Those interested in buying Alex’s book can find it here. Alex referred to his blog a few times on the show, and you can find his first person journalism covering Uhuru here.
We mentioned the Classics Learning Test board in passing in relation to discussion of Florida education policy. At least one viewer expressed some confusion as to who the CLT board are and what the CLT is. My research on the Classics Learning Test and the organization publishing it can be found here.
I had an echo on my mic for much of the show today and it is possible that I will need to replace my Chromebook soon. I knew this was probably coming but I have been wanting to put it off. If I have another show where I don’t know why my mic echoes, I may not be able to do that any longer. This will undoubtedly require me to ask for money for the next Chromebook. If you would like to support the show and the Chromebook right now, please check out becoming a patron!
It doesn’t look like adding Substack billing is an immediate option. They won’t let me just set up billing with PayPal, I have to set up an account with a different app that wants bank account info. This means I have to set up another bank account to keep show money separate from family money and track the paperwork. This will take a little time to do, so Patreon will remain the only paid subscription option until I have the executive function to do all that work.
